Player VS Environment is you versus the game, no extra players required to interact with other than partners. It is very strict in how you interact with the game, as the game is regular and expected in how it behaves, so it's more mechanics than anything else. You figure out the activity you want to do, you are given a couple ships that are good at the activity, or a set fit, which costs a certain amount of money, and then you train skills to do that activity.
This is part of the Career Chart project, in an effort to track all activities that someone in Eve Online can do, to find SOME way to try the different things. I am still workshopping how to display this. I have broken this down into 5 things on a 1-10 scale: Where you do this thing, how profitable is it is, how difficulty it is, how consistent you can do it, and the cost of trying it.
Combat Missions level 1 in high sec are done with frigates, like 2-30 mil, and is where everyone starts.
Combat Missions level 2 in high sec are done with cruisers, cost like 30-80 mil, and are doable immediately if you finished the Career Agents.
Combat Missions level 3 in high sec are done with battlecruisers, cost like 80-120 mil, and are doable immediately if you finished the Career Agents.
